Ham Radio is a VALUABLE national resource, given it’s importance and often necessity in emergencies, when oftentimes, cell phones and conventional landlines are ‘down’ (not working). VIVA Ham Radio!!!
This station, WDEF, is actually local to me. I’m also a ham radio operator myself (hence my username) in Dalton, GA, just about 30 miles south of Chattanooga, where Channel 12 is

Indeed, It shows just how important we are if communications falls apart. We can help with natural diasters and much more.
I very happy to be part of it and enjoy talking to people around the world as well as helping in local events like races and stuff.
Everyone should be in this hobby! It is alot of fun.
