At JamesJB32: You can do it with your Technician Amateurradio Class.:) Those Antennas must go with an Electrical Motor. You can buy this Antennas from any Dealer who has Antennas from M2, Comet ect….The Transceiver in this Video is a Kenwood TS2000 or you buy an old Yaesu FT847.

thats pritty cool! when i was in middle school i didnt know what a ham radio was. i used to see it in math questions on how much it would be to build a ham radio. i was thinkin that it was a regular radio (for music) made with ham. lol till my cousin invited me over to listen to one one time.

Is this still node still connected to satellites? Just wondering, I’m a big fan of Echolink, I really love the idea of being able to connect to transmitters all over the world as if I were using them locally.
I just wondered if this node was connected to satellites or just used locally and occasionally connected to satellites. I see the AMSAT conference server as well but I can never find any information about how it’s used or what it’s connected to. I usually don’t see anyone on it either. ????
